In the framework of the 22nd Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), which took place today, the Cuban candidate, Dr. Yamila González Ferrer, as a member of the Monitoring Committee of the Instrument for a period of 3 years. The election of Dr. González Ferrer, who was the most voted candidate in these elections, reflects the recognition of Cuba's humanist work in defense of women's rights, as well as the prestige gained by our country in the United Nations system and its sustained work within this specialized body.
It is also a recognition of the merits of Dr. Yamila González Ferrer, a prestigious Cuban jurist, who is vice-president of the National Union of Cuban Jurists

Havana, June 21, 2022.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, ratified Cuba's firm commitment to nuclear disarmament, speaking at the opening day of the First Meeting of States of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Weapons Nuclear, which takes place from June 21 to 23 in Vienna, Austria.

Ambassador Mirta Aurora Granda Averhoff presented to WFP Executive Director, David Beasley, the Letters of Credence that accredits her as Permanent Representative of Cuba to the World Food Programme (WFP). During a private meeting with the Executive Director, both diplomats ratified the excellent and fruitful relations between WFP and Cuba, as well as the will to continue strengthening them.
