Cuba elected to the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)
In the framework of the 22nd Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), which took place today, the Cuban candidate, Dr. Yamila González Ferrer, as a member of the Monitoring Committee of the Instrument for a period of 3 years. The election of Dr. González Ferrer, who was the most voted candidate in these elections, reflects the recognition of Cuba's humanist work in defense of women's rights, as well as the prestige gained by our country in the United Nations system and its sustained work within this specialized body.
