“The delegations of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, the Republic of Cuba, the Republic of Nicaragua and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela accredited to UNESCO demand the exclusion of Cuba from the unilateral list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism, which has a negative impact on all areas of Cuban society and on the welfare of its people by intensifying the country's difficulties to enter international trade, carry out financial operations and procure basic supplies".

The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Group of 77 and China UNESCO Chapters demanded the exclusion of Cuba from the unilateral list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism. Through a Joint Communiqué, widely circulated at this headquarters, the G77 and China and the NAM UNESCO Chapters expressed their support for the Declaration of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC), issued on June 14 in New York, which demands the withdrawal of Cuba from the aforementioned list and the lifting of all unilateral coercive measures against the Cuban people

UNESCO event on urban development opens in Cuba

The 9th International Meeting on Culture, Communication, Marketing and Community opened in the Cuban capital as a space to defend the value of culture in urban development and promote exchange among nations.

Under the motto “Transforming urban life at UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Thousand Cities, innovation and 2030 Agenda: Communication and ethics of diversity in post-pandemic cities,” the event promotes reflection on the contribution of marketing in the sociocultural projects of urban communities.
