He graduated as Bachelor of International Political Relations from the Raúl Roa García Higher Institute of International Relations, Havana. 

Further education: Scholarship of Specialization in Cooperation, Italian Culture and Language for Latin American Diplomats, Institute for Research and Development, Florence, Italy. Master’s Degree in International Relations (Specialty: Politics),  from the Raúl Roa García Higher Institute of International Relations. Diploma in Public Administration.  Several postgraduate courses.

Career:

1993-1994:      Social service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

1994-1994:      Assistant Specialist at the Division of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad.

1994-1995:      Official mission at the Interest Section of Cuba in Washington.

1996-1998:      Third Secretary in charge of Consular Affairs at the Interest Section of Cuba in Washington.

1998-2000:      Second Secretary in charge of Consular Affairs at the Interest Section of Cuba in Washington.

2000-2004:      Deputy Director of the Division of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad.

2004-2008:      Ambassador of Cuba in Belize. 

2008-2011:      Director of the Cadres and Personnel Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX, by its Spanish initials).

2011-2013:      Cadres Director of MINREX.

2013-2017:      Ambassador of Cuba in Spain, with concurrent accreditation to Andorra.

2017-present: Ambassador. Director General of the Latin America and Caribbean Division, MINREX.

He has been a member of several official delegations participating in bilateral visits, international events and meetings.
