She graduated as Bachelor of International Economic Relations from the Raúl Roa García Higher Institute of International Relations in 1991. 

Languages: English with some knowledge of French.

Career:

1995-1999:  Third Secretary and Specialist in Economic and Environmental Affairs.  Division of Multilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX, by its Spanish initials), Cuba. 

1999-2002:  Second Secretary in charge of disarmament and international security affairs. Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations based in Switzerland.

2002-2005:  First Secretary, Specialist in disarmament and international security affairs. Division of Multilateral Affairs, MINREX, Cuba.

2005-2007:  First Secretary, Lead Specialist, and Head of the Team in charge of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).  Division of Multilateral Affairs, MINREX, Cuba.

2007-2009:  Counsellor, Deputy Director of Political, Juridical and NAM-Related Affairs at the Division of Multilateral Affairs, MINREX, Cuba.   

2009-2013:  Counsellor and Director of Multilateral Affairs, MINREX, Cuba.  

2013-2016:   Ambassador of Cuba to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations based in Switzerland.

2017-2019:   Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, New York. 

January 2019:  Ambassador. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba.

She has been a member of many official delegations participating in bilateral visits, international events and meetings.

She has received national and international distinctions.
