Cuban Ambassador met with President of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Belgium

Brussels, April 1, 2025. - The President of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Belgium, Peter De Roover, received today at the headquarters of the Federal Parliament Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Mission to the European Union.

During the meeting, the cooperation links between both countries, which have more than 120 years of diplomatic relations, were highlighted and other issues of common interest were discussed.

For his part, the Cuban Ambassador renewed the willingness to continue promoting inter-parliamentary exchanges, as well as the possibility of resuming parliamentary visits to Cuba.

The House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Belgium is composed of 150 federal deputies and, together with the Senate, is one of the two chambers of the Belgian Federal Parliament. Deputy Peter De Roover was appointed president of that legislative body on July 10, 2024.
